If there hasn’t been enough great news around the club as regards NatWest Cricketforce 2012, the latest really adds a coat of gloss to proceedings.
We have had it confirmed that Sky Sports cricket presenter, former Lancashire and England cricketer, author and raconteur David Lloyd will be at Crimble next Saturday (March 31).
Bumble has become THE voice of Sky Sports cricket, not just for his quick-witted Northern humour, but also through his accurate insights into the game at the very top level (click below for a Bumble tale).
He’ll be joined at Crimble by Stephen Moore, the Lancashire batsman who played such a key role in our county’s first outright County Championship title in more than 70 years.
And to really put that little extra polish on proceedings, we’ve learned today that the ECB will be filming the event and producing a DVD of the day, showing what can be done by engaging with the local community.
Bobby Cross, who really has been the driving force behind NatWest Cricketforce 2012 day at Heywood CC, says it will be a fitting thank you to all those who have put in such time and effort.
“Everyone had best get your hair done and make up on for the day as anyone could be interviewed!
“The film crew will want to interview many of the people who have helped the club in terms of donations, labour and hear your own view of how this story affects your business.
“It will be a great showcase and thank you for those who have helped the club.”
