HEYWOOD supporters will not have relatively long to wait for cricket action in 2020.
Friendlies for the first and second teams have been arranged for the first two weekends of April as a prelude to the new Greater Manchester Cricket League (GMCL) season.
Norden will be the first opponents on Sunday, April 5, the senior sides meeting at Crimble and the second teams in combat at Stag Park.
The following weekend sees action on Saturday, April 11, with a senior clash against Middleton at Towncroft.
The reverse second team friendly fixture with Middleton is two days later on Easter Monday, April 13, at Crimble.
The GMCL season gets under way the following weekend on Saturday, April 18, when the first team faces at trip to Whalley Range in the newly-created Championship.
Crimble sees action the same day when the second team start their Division 3 East campaign at home to Flowery Field.
And the third team also have a Crimble opener the following day when they entertain Littleborough Lakeside.
The draws for the the various Cup competitions have been postponed until next weekend.
The first round of the Championship Cup is on Sunday, May 17; the Second X1 Cup is on May 24; and the 3rd X1 Cup on May 31.
