Cricket is coming early to Crimble this year.
A special friendly has been arranged between Heywood 1st XI and Lancashire under-19s on Easter Monday (time TBC), April 1. The Lancs age group side are keen to have a look at their players ahead of the season, and Crimble is one of the few grounds capable of holding a match early in the season.
The match will see most of Heywood’s young players get a chance, while there are rumours there could be some talented young players from elsewhere in the league playing for Heywood.
Captain Bobby Cross is happy with the game: “This will be a warm up game for the U19′s and an opportunity for them to look at some players for the upcoming season.
“It will also give some of Heywood’s own youngsters the chance to play against the best in the county at that age.”
