The committee would like to thank those that have given the club overwhelming support over the past few weeks, not least those that have renewed their membership despite the lack of activity down at the ground.
The response from members, both playing and social, has been superb and makes us more determined than ever that the club shall continue to offer our wonderful facilities once the world returns to some semblance of normality.
Whilst it remains uncertain when cricket may be allowed to return we are grateful to ECB and Lancashire Cricket who have provided our All Stars with their kit and activity packs to continue their cricket journey at home for now, and we thank those that have been in touch to share their experiences of cricket during the lockdown.
We are still hopeful following the GMCL communications that some cricket may be played in the second half of the summer although this is obviously dependent on government advice and regulations.
The challenge that we will face in the short term will be that whilst cricket may return in some regulated format, it may be longer before the bar is allowed to open and the committee are working very hard to look at the effect this may have on finances and looking at ways to ensure the club continues to remain active and sustainable.
Again we are grateful for the ongoing support that you are giving to us and we look forward to a time when we can be back together as a club to enjoy the facilities, watch our youngsters develop, see some competitive cricket and to raise a glass to those that we have lost recently, particularly Martin Platt and Bob Horrox.

One thing I thought might work if you are allowed to re open is a one way system. Members enter through usual way and approach bar with social distancing.
Then exit via players exit and maintain distancing outside. This may even attract
More punters and members due to the very large “beer garden” the club has.
