REPORT by Kate Cross: Joe Carter won the toss and stuck Clifton in to bat.
Frankie Quinn kept wicket all match and was very energetic and was one of the only ones to encourage the bowlers. Everybody bowled and we managed to get three wickets in total all bowled by Issy Sweeney, Frankie Griffiths and Ben Taylor. Clifton managed a score of 236 for us to chase down.
Special mentions go to Frankie Griffiths and Joe Carter for some brilliant bowling.
Unfortunately, Heywood fell short of the mark by 25 runs but it was really positive to see the team finishing in the positives and scoring more runs than losing through wickets.
Libby Harding batted particularly well with some fantastic sweeping off the leg stump.
As it was the first time I had seen them play a game I wasn’t too sure what to expect but I was proud of everyone who played and it was encouraging to hear Bobby say how much of an improvement they had made in just a week.
Our next game is not for another two weeks so there is lots of time to see even more improvements.
We still have two more warm-
up games to play before the league starts but at the minute the kids all seem to be enjoying their time out in the middle.
