Heywood have been handed a stiff first round draw in the LCB Knock-out for 2013. Last year, Heywood were knocked out in the second round by eventual winners Bamford Fieldhouse. Heywood have re-signed pro Travis Townsend for the 2013 season. The popular South African, 27, finished the season sixth in the pro batting averages with 740 runs at 46.25, and fourth in the bowling averages with 42 wickets at less than 12. Heywood’s bowlers and fielders turned in their best performance for 82 years as they simply obliterated Milnrow at Ladyhouse on Saturday. Not since 1930 – when Middleton were blown away for just 18 at Towncroft – had a Heywood side bowled a side out for a total as paltry as the 24 that Milnrow managed. Click here for more ….
