SCOOP’S VIEW: Well, the CLL will not be the same again after the rule change was passed at the league meeting last night to change from one division of 16 to two divisions of eight from 2013. Heywood CC open their 2012 League campaign in the Central Lancashire League with the visit of Milnrow on Saturday 15 April. The season could have been a lot more fraught if Norden’s two division proposal had been voted in, but as it is it is same as normal. Our biggest games of the season come Click here for more ….

Next Friday (25 November, not 18th as I got in my head) sees the Central Lancashire League vote on the biggest proposal for change ever seen in local league cricket. Tomorrow night (Tuesday) the club’s Cricket Committee will meet to debate how we will vote on possible changes to the Central Lancashire League. Norden have proposed changes to the league, which involves splitting it into two divisions of eight.
