‘We need doers in our movement, Brian’.
So does Heywood Cricket Club, ahead of Saturday night’s bonfire at Crimble.
Members are being urged to bring a pair of sturdy gloves and join helpers already confirmed on Saturday morning to help move the wood already at Crimble into place for the bonfire.
Work on shifting the great pile of timber, pallets and various assorted pieces of waste wood gets under way at 9am, and we need as many people as possible to help.
The bonfire itself starts at 6pm, the same time as the bar opens.
Cost of entry is £2 for adults, £1 for children and there’ll be potato pie, hotdogs, sweets crisps and a can bar for you drinkers.
It is expected the fireworks – regularly called the best in Heywood – will get under way at about 7.30pm.
See you there.
