Heywood are pleased to announce that Amar Ullah has agreed terms to remain at Crimble for a second season following the shortened 2020 campaign.
The left handed all rounder has impressed in the brief campaign this summer with match winning runs against Edenfield, an opening day 50 at Brooksbottom and contributions with bat and ball through the T15 campaign.
His contribution at training has also been a big help to the senior players and Cricket Chairman Roger Smethurst was pleased to have re-engaged Ullah for a second year.
“We have all been impressed with what we have seen from Amar this summer in what have been unprecedented and difficult circumstances. He has contributed with bat and ball and hopefully with life and cricket returning to some normality next summer it will be a chance for him to show supporters exactly what he can do across a full season.”
“We all appreciate that there may still be issues around travel and overseas options may be difficult next summer and the decision now allows us to plan over the winter for a strong showing in the second tier”.
Heywood have been pushed back to the second division of the GMCL, one step away from the Premier, due to Greenmount moving to the Lancashire League for the 2021 season and will be looking to continue to strengthen the side for that challenge.
