HEYWOOD teams still have an action-packed weekend (August 28, 29, 30 and 31) despite no scheduled game at Crimble on Saturday.
The Monkeys get the ball rolling, weather permitting, on Friday evening with a trip to Thornham CC to take on the home club’s Thunder team in the latest round of 15-over matches.
Featuring in the Heywood senior team for the first time will be wicketkeeper Charles Stanford-Campbell, and Conor McNally plays again after his debut at Shaw.
The first team were scheduled to entertain Brooksbottom the following day but the Bury area side are unable to fulfil the fixture.
Ramsbottom had originally agreed to fill the void in a friendly match, but they have now a commitment to a Cup game in the Lancashire League.
Meanwhile, the second team have a Saturday fixture with a trip to Greenmount.
Sunday, however, has cricket at Crimble again when the third team host Clifton.
And Bank Holiday Monday sees a Heywood side feature in the annual Tom Hardman Trophy day at Rochdale CC, which commemorates one of the best products of the Crimble junior system.
The action starts at 11 30pm with Middleton v Norden, host club Rochdale take on Heywood at 2pm, and the final will follow later in the afternoon.
