HEYWOOD Cricket Club’s first team turn back the clock on Friday night when they revisit a popular venue from their Central Lancashire League days.

They make the short trip to Milnrow in the second match of their GMCL15 campaign, the 15-overs-per side competition which has superseded the T20 for the end of the current season.

The senior side make the trip to Edenfield on Saturday as the 40 overs-per-side format continues, while on the same day the second team host East Lancs Paper Mill at Crimble.

And another busy weekend concludes with a second successive Crimble game, this time for the third team at home to Bury.

We have been asked by the GMCL Board to remind players and spectators of the following around cricket in the current climate:

ADAPTIVE CRICKET – IMMEDIATE ACTION

This note serves as a reminder to all Clubs that we must follow the ECB adaptive play guidance. We have now been playing for 2 weeks and the vast majority of clubs are following the guidance to the letter but we hear of others that are not in our own and other leagues.

Changing Rooms are not to be used as changing rooms.
Players are to arrive changed.
The ECB have allowed the use of the changing room for an individual for putting pads and box on and the use of any connected toilet in a controlled manner.

Showers are not to be used whatsoever.

Drinks- players must provide their own drinks. Clubs are not to provide these.
PLAYER BEHAVIOUR

Whilst these are different conditions for our matches the last thing we want is any adverse behaviour and therefore all players should take to the field knowing they must respect the officials, respect their opponents and respect the game.

There has been some poor behaviour from individuals over the last weekend who have let down their team mates and clubs and have not respected the game or the officials.

The League will not tolerate poor discipline on the field of play.
In summary,
As we all know, the situation we find ourselves in is severe and unprecedented and we must follow the guidance, it’s our responsibility for the safety of our family and friends and each other. This cant be stressed enough.
