Heywood CC under-13s cricketer Jack Morley has been selected for Lancashire under-12s.
Jack, who won’t be 12 until June, is a product of the club’s burgeoning youth set-up and attended his final trial at Ormskirk CC and impressed the team’s selectors.
Jack is a regular in the club’s under-13s and has already shown the confidence needed to thrive in the unbeaten under-15s side when required. It’s testament to the number of under-15s players we have that Jack is not an automatic choice on the team sheet.
He has prospered under the coaching of Lee Grogan, the club’s under-11s coach, and is now one of the top performers in John Heywood’s under-13s.
This year the Lancashire junior squads will have two teams for most of the age groups and these will be split into County Development Team and County Team. At this time no indication has been made in which team Jack will play for the majority of the campaign, but his first game is with the Development Team at Fylde CC on May 29 against Cumbria.
