Jack, who won’t be 12 until June, is a product of the club’s burgeoning youth set-up and attended his final trial at Ormskirk CC and impressed the team’s selectors. Heywood’s under-15s failed to build on a solid start and went down to heavy defeat at Norden last Friday. Ben Thulborn and Morgan Kay both scored excellent 30s and retired as Heywood looked set for a big score.
