HEYWOOD’S senior side will be up against a couple of familiar names in friendlies in the build-up to the newly-inaugurated Greater Manchester Cricket League season.
They make the trip to Towncroft on Saturday, April 9, to face Middleton, and the following day take on 2015 Central Lancashire League champions Norden at Crimble.
The second team, meanwhile, are at home to Bamford Fieldhouse on April 9, then face Norden at Woodhouse Lane the next day.
That leads both teams nicely into the GMCL lift-off, with the senior side opening with a tasty Premier League clash against Glossop at Crimble on Saturday, April 16.
The second team who, who have been placed in Division Three, begin with a trip to Denton West to take on their reserve side also on April 16.
And Heywood’s third team, who are in the Sunday North East Division, spring into action the following day at home to Unsworth.
