HEYWOOD’S hopes of getting in some pre-season action have been hit by a total wash-out.
The tasty-looking clash with a Lancashire Under-19s side, scheduled for Sunday (April 15), has now been called off with parts of Crimble under water.
A planned game against Bury the previous day suffered the same fate earlier in the week, as did first and second team friendlies with Middleton the previous weekend.
It means that Heywood go into the start of the Greater Manchester League season without any competitive outdoor practise.
The first team are due to host Premier League champions Flixton on Saturday, April 21 (12.30pm), while the second team face a trip to Failsworth Macedonia the same day.
