Heywood bowlers Simon Dawson and Jack Morley have moved into the top twenty in the club’s all time leading amateur wicket takers following a successful summer for the duo.
Dawson, who has established himself with the new ball has moved up to 17th in the list with 176 wickets to his name whilst Morley has claimed just one wicket less with his left arm spin.
Morley was so successful this summer that he not only picked up the senior bowling prize at the annual presentation evening but also claimed the overall Player of the Year award for the club in a summer that saw him play regularly for Lancashire 2nd XI as he embarks on a professional career with the Red Rose club.
Other big winners at the presentation evening were Olivia Thomas who scooped a series of awards including the Young Player of the Year, and Cabahn Hilton who took home the Most Improved Player award. Jane Pagett was recognised for her tireless hard work around the club with junior coaching and volunteering with the award of Club Person of the Year.
The efforts of all the juniors were recognised and a separate report will follow.
